Job Summary

The Girl Experience Specialist/Camp Support is a key role in achieving the council's overall membership and retention goals by developing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality outdoor programs, events, and curricula that meet the needs of girls and align with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE).

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in achieving the council's membership and retention goals by developing, coordinating, and delivering quality outdoor programs, events, and curricula that meet the needs of girls and align with the GSLE.
  • Facilitate customized outdoor program experiences within assigned curriculum to meet the needs of troops and interests of girls, offered in short-term flexible format, aligns to defined outcomes.
  • In partnership and under the direction of the Girl Experience Coordinator, cultivate community relationships that offer unique opportunities to meet the interests of today's girls and to enhance year-round program offerings.
  • Implement targeted program development plans utilizing membership data and demographics that align with the overall council strategic plan.
  • Participate in planning and implementing Girl Scouting leadership development programs and events for the outdoor program participation pathway area across the council's geographic area.
  • Research alternative facilities to house programs that target diverse under-served and/or not served areas of GSCB within an assigned regional area and ensure that the program offerings are relevant to the interests of the girls being served.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of council plans to continually evaluate girl outcomes and program results.
  • Facilitate Program on the Move, virtual offerings, and works in collaboration with Girl Experience Coordinator to support the facilitation of overnight and weekend offerings as well as overnight camp.
  • Use data from surveys and evaluations to improve and expand outdoor program offerings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental education or camping/outdoor recreation preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in outdoor program design and development, outdoor program evaluation and facilitation, people management, marketing, community relations, or other relevant skills are preferred.
  • Prior experience in customer service, retail, office support or other relevant area is preferred.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with volunteers and GSCB departments, and independently, and capable of lifting 25 pounds.
  • Approximately 70% travel.
