TechServ Engineering & Consulting is seeking a skilled Damage Assessor to join our team for seasonal and/or temporary positions. As a Damage Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing damage to electric transmission and distribution infrastructure following major weather events and federal disasters.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of damage to electric utility facilities in assigned areas.
- Identify and report accurate information on damage, including vegetation management needs and debris cleanup.
- Communicate effectively with utility crews to ensure efficient restoration efforts.
- Perform post-storm inspections to confirm repairs and construction standards.
- 2+ years of electric utility experience or completion of TechServ's Storm Services Damage Assessor training.
- Possess a valid driver's license and pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) background check.
- Ability to work long hours, walk long distances, and navigate challenging terrain.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience with utility crew types and their capabilities.
- Prolonged sitting and standing.
- Occasional need to lift, pull, carry, and push items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Personal vehicle requirements for driving: 4WD or AWD Truck or SUV Preferred for Summer Storm Event, 4WD or AWD Truck or SUV Required for Winter Storm Event.
