Symetra is seeking a seasoned sales leader to drive growth in the Western and Central regions of the United States.

About the Opportunity

As Regional Sales Director for Group Ancillary Products, you will be responsible for maximizing sales production from broker partnerships. Your goal will be to establish effective marketing plans that result in profitable new and renewal business, while expanding market share in a competitive environment.

You will lead by example, building and nurturing relationships with your team, internal partners, third-party administrators, consultants, and brokers. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement regional sales strategies to achieve business objectives.
  2. Lead a team of sales representatives, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  3. Maintain strong relationships with brokers, identifying opportunities for growth and developing tailored marketing plans.

Your ability to analyze market trends, understand key performance indicators, and assess business exceptions will be crucial in driving successful results.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Life and Health Insurance License.
  • At least 10 years of experience in regional production sales and sales leadership, specifically in Group Ancillary Life, Disability, Absence, and Supplemental Health product lines.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales goals.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills, with excellent relationship management abilities.
Compensation and Benefits

The base salary for this role is $150,000, with eligibility for incentive compensation. Additional benefits include flexible work arrangements, a comprehensive 401(k) plan with immediate vesting and company matching up to 6%, paid time off, and a generous holiday package.

Location

This role requires relocation to the Western or Central region of the United States. A thorough understanding of risk management principles and general underwriting concepts for all segment sizes is essential for success in this position.
