Job Summary

Schochet is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Property Manager to join our team. As a key member of our property management team, you will be responsible for facilitating all aspects of the apartment leasing process, including administrative duties, rent collection, and maintenance of the waitlist.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property management, with experience in Section 8 housing and proficiency in Microsoft Office. You will be responsible for supervising the Compliance department, inspecting market-ready units, and submitting and processing TRACS and HAP payments.

As a self-motivated individual with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, you will be able to manage the property and supervise a large staff when the Property Manager is not available. Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate all aspects of the apartment leasing process, including administrative duties, rent collection, and maintenance of the waitlist.
  • Supervise the Compliance department to ensure proper HUD requirements are being followed.
  • Inspect market-ready units for acceptance to lease and for resident move-in.
  • Submit and process TRACS and HAP payments.
  • Monitor and produce property reports in Yardi.
  • Promote positive resident relations and respond to resident issues and complaints.
  • Provide assistance and backup to the Property Manager in their duties.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of property management experience, including a background in Section 8 housing.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Yardi experience a plus.
  • Certified Occupancy Specialist or equivalent required.
  • Additional IREM certifications preferred.
