Job Summary

The DHA Facilities Operations Training Manager will support the DHA Facility Operations Branch in developing and delivering training programs for facilities enterprise staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare facilities operations and experience in training program development and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver training programs for facilities enterprise staff
  • Collaborate with DHA leadership and training personnel to conceptualize, develop, and improve education and training content
  • Establish and coordinate reporting relationships with DHA leadership and refine metrics as necessary
  • Develop and maintain a catalogue of training and education content, reviewing existing content for accuracy and applicability
  • Support Facilities Operations Branch in developing, deploying, and maintaining the Facility Manager's Training Program
  • Meet with DHA Education and Training Branch to ensure FM courses meet accreditation requirements
  • Support FOB in developing and implementing a standard DHA training Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
  • Support FOB in planning and developing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Federal Buildings Personnel Training Act (FBPTA) of 2010
  • Lead the development of a comprehensive DHA Facility Managers Core Competency assessment tool
  • Plan and coordinate quarterly educational webinars for the FM community
  • Lead the development and implementation of an annual DHA FOB Training Summit
  • Track initiation, progress, and completion of all training content and trainees
  • Develop, refine, and report metrics used to advance the Training and Education mission
  • Provide support and collaboration in the development of Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) coursework
  • Assess client training goals and develop targeted, personalized training for executives and/or senior staff as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience level
  • Minimum of five years of healthcare facilities operations experience
  • General knowledge of operations at higher-level staff, including DoD, OSD, Combatant Commands, Joint Staff, DRUs, and Services HQ Staff headquarters
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DoD and other military service department policies, regulations, and procedures
  • Skill in oral and written communication to present sensitive and sometimes controversial material and recommendations to management, higher authorities, and other government agencies
  • Ability to evaluate staff actions, proposals, orders, and plans in relation to DHA's and DoD's strategic plans, regulations, policies, and operations
  • Analytical skills to permit translation of DHA program and mission objectives into overall DHA plans
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver a training program that is effective and informational
  • Ability to apply Joint Commission, Facilities, Engineering, US DoD military medical design and/or construction codes and standards
  • Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources into various systems
  • Ability to ensure proper system interfaces
  • Ability to collect data for analysis
  • Ability to develop products resulting from analysis
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or other project management solution to manage projects
