Key Responsibilities

The Burn Unit Nursing Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with departmental standards and practices. In collaboration with healthcare providers, the nurse will offer personalized, compassionate care while serving as an advocate for patients and their families.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Evaluating patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes.
  • Administering prescribed medications and monitoring patients for therapeutic responses, intervening as necessary.
  • Conducting thorough patient assessments prior to procedures, ensuring understanding of the process and obtaining necessary consents.
  • Implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient experiences, including safety protocols and effective communication strategies.
  • Exhibiting strong communication skills to ensure clarity among patients, physicians, and colleagues, addressing care concerns as needed.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the practicing state or possession of an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
