We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. As a PACU RN, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth transition for patients from the operating room to the recovery area.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, evaluate, plan, implement, and coordinate patient care in the PACU
- Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients in the immediate post-anesthesia period
- Transcribe and implement physician orders, document patient information, and administer medication and IV fluids accurately and safely
- Update and revise patient care plans as needed, based on continued assessment of patient needs
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and use critical thinking skills to perceive potential problem situations and intervene to offset adverse effects
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification
- Minimum of 1 year of previous nursing experience, preferably in a PACU or similar setting
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of employment start date
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year of employment start date
