The Police Executive Research Forum is in search of a highly qualified and seasoned professional to take on the role of Deputy Chief of Professional Standards. This position is integral to the executive leadership team and plays a crucial role in shaping the future of law enforcement practices.

As a vibrant community with a population exceeding 190,000, the area serves as a central hub for a larger metropolitan region. The Deputy Chief will be appointed by the Chief of Police and will be responsible for the oversight of the Professional Standards Bureau.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all internal investigations within the department.
  2. Evaluate and enhance training programs, policies, and operational practices to align with contemporary best practices in law enforcement.
  3. Foster community engagement initiatives and leverage data analytics to support policy advocacy.
Essential Qualifications:
  1. Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution.
  2. Demonstrated experience in executive-level oversight within law enforcement.
  3. Comprehensive understanding of public safety standards and auditing processes.
  4. Proven track record in community engagement and data-driven policy reform.
