Position Overview:

CHRIS 180 Migrant Wellness Program offers comprehensive care for unaccompanied minors under the supervision of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). This program focuses on stabilization, behavioral support, and a holistic approach to care within residential settings in the Atlanta region.

The role necessitates direct interaction with clients, families, or caregivers to monitor, evaluate, and implement physician directives concerning the psychological and physical well-being of the individuals in care.

Key Responsibilities:

The essential duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting nursing assessments in collaboration with family members and caseworkers for all youth in the program.
  • Evaluating responses to medications and coordinating referrals to mental health professionals as necessary.
  • Facilitating ongoing health education sessions for residents and staff on various health topics.
  • Ensuring adequate supplies of first aid and over-the-counter medications are available for group homes.
  • Performing monthly visits to therapeutic group homes to review compliance with medication administration protocols.
  • Providing recommendations to medical staff regarding significant health concerns.
  • Delivering on-site health services, including vital sign assessments and injections as required.
  • Monitoring and documenting medication administration and educating caregivers on medication management.
  • Tracking drug screening results and maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Participating in weekly treatment meetings to discuss client care and progress.
  • Maintaining availability for health consultations 24/7.
  • Reporting any suspected abuse or neglect in accordance with established policies.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Active RN license in Georgia with at least two years of experience in mental health or substance abuse.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Knowledge of mental health and co-occurring disorders.
  • Understanding of health, nutrition, and wellness principles.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and professional development.
  • Effective time management and flexibility in work schedule.
  • Ability to serve as a credible resource for the organization.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Annual Salary: $75,000.00 with a $3,000.00 New Hire Sign-On Bonus.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position requiring on-site presence, typically working Monday to Friday, with flexibility required.

This position is grant-funded and requires on-site work.
