Job Title: Clinical Nurse - Behavioral Health Specialist

Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse - Behavioral Health Specialist position is responsible for providing high-quality nursing services to clients/patients in a variety of settings, including residential care facilities, behavioral health programs, substance use disorder treatment programs, crisis centers, outpatient clinics, and community-based settings. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for delivering patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each client/patient.
  • Evaluate client/patient physical and mental health status, and coordinate care with the treatment team to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Monitor client/patient health status, including vital signs, lab results, and medication management, and take appropriate action to address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement treatment plans that address the physical and mental health needs of clients/patients.
  • Provide education and support to clients/patients and their families on health-related topics, including disease prevention, risk reduction, and medication management.
  • Administer medications and oversee medication management, including monitoring for side effects and adverse reactions.
  • Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Document client/patient progress and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care and services.

Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice.
  • Experience working in behavioral health or substance abuse treatment settings.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records and other healthcare software applications.
