Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Managed Care Contract Negotiator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management, negotiation, and analysis, with a focus on healthcare and managed care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Develop, negotiate, and maintain system-wide managed care agreements, including physician, hospital, and transplant agreements.
  • Payer Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with internal matrix partners and external payer partners, including negotiation of reimbursement rates and contract language.
  • Contract Analysis and Evaluation: Analyze and evaluate the financial impact of new and existing managed care agreements, and identify opportunities to gain efficiencies and greater effectiveness in contracts.
  • Revenue Cycle Management: Work with the Revenue Cycle Departments to resolve systemic managed care payment problems and serve as the point person for enforcing the terms of our managed care contracts.
  • Business Development: Support Moffitt growth strategies by being a subject matter expert on payment implications for new opportunities.
  • Communication and Education: Provide support to individual patient Letters of Agreement with non-contracted payers, and provide education to internal stakeholders on managed care activities.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of progressively challenging experience in managed care contracting, either in a hospital, health system, or managed care organization.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate and negotiate complex contracts. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present to internal stakeholders and external partners.
