Nurse Practitioner-Cardiothoracic Stepdown Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, education, and support to patients and families in the cardiothoracic department.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and diagnose patients' conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide education and support to patients and families.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Conduct physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to inform patient care decisions.
- Prescribe medications and treatments as authorized by state law and hospital policies.
- Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Cardiothoracic Medicine.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a cardiothoracic setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex medical information and make informed decisions.
