Job Description:
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Medical Search International. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and management in a fast-paced Cardiothoracic Surgery Stepdown unit.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of care for Cardiothoracic Step down, pre and post op patients
- Provide patient education and support to patients and their families
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Perform chest tube removal, Arterial Line removal, ABG, Epicardial Pacing wire removal, and other procedures as required
- Document patient information and progress in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York
- Current ACLS and BCLS certification
- Experience working in a Cardiothoracic Surgery Stepdown unit or similar setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
