Job Title: Distribution Operations Manager

Job Summary:

Expeditors is a global logistics company seeking a skilled Distribution Operations Manager to lead our customer service team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for driving efficiency and process improvements, ensuring excellent customer service, and mentoring team members to achieve best-in-class results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the processing of distribution receipts and shipments, ensuring compliance with Operational Standards Process manual.
  • Implement workflow and exception management, holding team members accountable for a clean workflow.
  • Lead branch/product DBO or GBO rollouts and engage in efficiency projects to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide effective customer service for all distribution accounts, mentoring team members to achieve best-in-class results.
  • Train peers as needed and oversee assigned staff, promoting a culture of excellence and quality customer service.
  • Audit files, spot-checking areas of concern on an ongoing basis to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Monitor diligent notes on all hold items and returns, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Run metric reports, including Power BI Dashboards, to trend and report on key performance indicators.
  • Billing management and EDI efficiencies to optimize operations and reduce costs.
  • Mentor team members and develop Up & Comers, promoting a culture of growth and development.
  • Drive daily huddles and meetings with staff, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Support Sales initiatives as needed, helping to develop leads and drive business growth.
  • Integrate processes with warehouse day and night staff, striving for synergies within all products.
  • Support inventory management and oversight, ensuring accurate and timely inventory levels.

Requirements:

  • Preferred 4-year college degree.
  • 1-2 years of Distribution and warehousing experience.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods (50% of the time).
  • Occasional movement about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Fully proficient with various software applications, including mainframe systems, Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and preferably inventory control.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
