Position Overview

The Manufacturing Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing production activities to guarantee that operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and promptly. This position is accountable for managing production schedules and assigning daily tasks based on operational requirements and individual capabilities. A hands-on approach is essential, as this role involves direct engagement with the production process and team members on a daily basis. The Manufacturing Supervisor will champion safety, quality, delivery, and team morale while driving continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  • Ensure all tasks are executed safely and efficiently, adhering to company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Facilitate communication, training, and coaching to empower employees in achieving operational goals and producing high-quality products.
  • Mentor and guide junior supervisors, providing constructive feedback and strategies for enhancing interpersonal communication skills.
  • Organize and allocate personnel based on manufacturing schedule demands.
  • Evaluate equipment capacity and material availability to optimize manufacturing output through effective personnel adjustments.
  • Assess employee skills to align with the requirements of various manufacturing areas.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze output, manufacturing processes, labor efficiencies, operating expenses, and quality metrics for assigned areas.
  • Measure performance and quality standards.
  • Drive improvements in key operational performance indicators.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with other departments, including Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, Planning, and Quality, to meet production targets.
  • Regularly meet with management to discuss production outcomes and prioritize improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional related tasks as required.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Technical Science, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and Labor Laws.
  • Proficient in Conflict Resolution and Time Management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to effectively utilize technology, tools, and information systems.
  • Capability to foster a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to provide guidance and direction as necessary.
  • Capacity to set objectives, make decisions, and manage operations with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to support operations during off shifts as needed.
  • Proven ability to achieve business results independently and through team collaboration.
