Your Role
Position Summary:
Accountable for the overall management, administration, completion, and financial performance of construction initiatives. Responsible for managing project scope, budget, and timeline to prioritize operations while maintaining positive relationships with construction coordinators, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage construction sites for new builds and upgrades, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction to construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors to uphold quality and safety standards.
- Act as a liaison among engineers, permitting agencies, and project stakeholders.
- Identify, address, and monitor recurring construction challenges proactively.
- Conduct data audits in project management systems to track progress and finalize work orders.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations, OSHA standards, and other requirements.
- Perform inspections of equipment, materials, and job sites regularly.
- Manage material logistics and inventory for projects.
- Respond effectively to project delays, emergencies, and disruptions.
- Participate in coordination and progress meetings; conduct site visits throughout the construction process.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on completed work and prepare as-built documentation.
- Oversee restoration work as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
General:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience as a telecommunications construction supervisor.
- Minimum of 7 years in construction management.
- Familiarity with aerial and underground telecommunications construction methods; experience with fiber-to-the-home is a plus.
- Background in construction quality management and assurance.
- Understanding of construction methods and technologies, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts.
- Proactive approach to ensure timely project completion.
- Knowledge of resource management and scheduling techniques.
- Ability to lead teams to meet project timelines, budget constraints, and client specifications.
- Competent in conflict resolution and crisis management.
- Capability to manage multiple work zones simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.
- Proven history of implementing job site safety practices.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Physical requirements include:
- Ability to stand, stoop, squat, and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to walk long distances and navigate uneven terrain.
- Tolerance to extreme weather conditions.
- Good vision and depth perception (corrective lenses acceptable).
- Ability to lift a minimum of 10 lbs, potentially up to 50 lbs.
Technical:
- Proficient in interpreting telecommunications construction drawings in both hard copy and digital formats.
- Experienced in providing updates to construction plans.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- GIS experience is advantageous.
