Job Title: General Manager, Iowa

McGough Construction is seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Manager to lead our Iowa region. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, developing and implementing strategic plans, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute business plans to drive revenue growth and profitability
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals to achieve business objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships
  • Oversee project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, project management, and leadership
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in business development, project management, and leadership
  • 2+ years of experience as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role
  • Experience managing large and complex projects
  • Understanding of construction contract documents and profit/loss statements

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employees work station and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Employee needs to be able to lift up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and ability to distinguish between colors on graphs and charts.

Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
