About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Acquisitions Editor to lead our book development efforts in computer science. As a key member of our publishing team, you will be responsible for identifying and acquiring top talent in the field, working closely with authors to develop high-quality manuscripts, and promoting our industry-leading portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and acquiring top talent in the field of computer science.
  • Developing high-quality manuscripts with authors and peer reviewers.
  • Overseeing a backlist of projects and serving as the primary point of contact with authors.
  • Promoting our industry-leading portfolio through strategic partnerships and marketing initiatives.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of book acquisitions experience in computer science or a related field.
  • Solid track record of book acquisitions, including textbooks in computer science or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work with academic authors and deal with confidential information using discretion.
Estimated Salary Range

$85,000 - $110,000 per year.
