Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity and compliance of plumbing and fire protection systems across various projects.

Location Requirements:
Candidates must reside within the tristate area, specifically New Jersey, New York, or Connecticut.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the design of plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Experience with public agency projects is highly desirable.
  • Must hold EIT/PE licensure.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will work under the guidance of the Design Standards Unit Manager and the Assistant Manager. Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing fire protection, fire alarm, and plumbing design documents for tenant projects to ensure adherence to relevant building codes and technical standards.
  • Downloading and assessing electronic submissions, including construction documents, hydraulic calculations, specifications, and reports for compliance.
  • Coordinating feedback from various technical disciplines and preparing documentation to communicate these comments effectively.
  • Participating in meetings with tenant architects and engineers to discuss review comments and resolve any issues.
  • Assigning tasks to various technical disciplines for code review and liaising with facilities to facilitate project processing.
