As a Maintenance Technician III at Jones Lang LaSalle IP, Inc., you will lead a team of service technicians in the installation and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. You will support the Operations Maintenance team by designing solutions for complex problems and managing projects. You will also help train and mentor service and contract technicians.
Responsibilities- Ensure a Safe Working Environment: Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and protocols.
- Maintain and Troubleshoot Conveyor Systems: Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems in the building to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Lead and Audit Preventative Maintenance Procedures: Lead and audit preventative maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Install, Maintain, and Troubleshoot Relay Logic and Control Components: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, and other equipment.
- Create and Close Out Work Orders: Create and close out work orders with data including labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
- Maintain Positive Working Relationships: Maintain a positive working relationship across all Operations facilities.
- Develop Training Plans: Develop training plans for service technicians to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Develop Work Plans for Emergency Repairs: Develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assets to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Meet Physical Demands: Meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting parts and tools weighing up to 49 pounds, standing for long periods, and working in small spaces.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- PC Competency: Ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Flexible Scheduling: Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Associates or Higher Degree: An associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field is preferred.
- Experience with Automated Conveyors and Controls: 5+ years of experience working with automated conveyors and controls.
- Experience with Electrical and Electronic Principles: 5+ years of experience with electrical and electronic principles, National Electrical Code (NEC), and industrial electronics.
- Experience with Preventative Maintenance: 5+ years of experience conducting preventative maintenance.
- Experience with Blueprints and Schematics: 5+ years of experience reading blueprints and schematics.
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) Programs: 5+ years of experience with PLC programs.
- Work Order Management: 3+ years of experience with work order management.
- Apprenticeship or Equivalent Experience: 4+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
- Leadership Experience: Previous leadership experience is preferred.
- Vendor Management Experience: Previous vendor management experience is preferred.
- Robotic Maintenance Experience: Experience with robotic maintenance is preferred.
- Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Safety Standards: Experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and safety standards is preferred.
- Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Experience: Experience with a CMMS is preferred.
- Repetitive Bending, Crouching, Kneeling, Reaching, Twisting, Sitting, Standing, and Walking: Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
- Lifting Parts and Tools: Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 49 pounds.
- Dexterity in Eye/Hand Coordination, Feet, Manual, and Wrist Motion: Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals), manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation).
- Working Conditions: Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces.
