Maintenance Technician

Chapel Haven Schleifer Center, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of our facilities.
Responsibilities:- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, painting, electrical, and carpentry work.
- Oversee general grounds-keeping, including lawn and garden maintenance, and snow removal when necessary.
- Identify and report potential hazards or warning signs of problems to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Assist with maintaining agency vehicles, including cleaning, maintenance, oil changes, repairs, emissions, registration, and safety inspections.
- Assemble, repair, maintain, and move furniture, as well as related fittings and fixtures.
- Assist with Chapel Haven special events, as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of heating, electrical, and air conditioning equipment; replace filters; and identify and report more complex maintenance needs to the Facilities Manager.
- Inspect facilities and grounds for safety and security; identify and report hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Ensure all Chapel Haven facilities comply with OSHA, CARF, DDS, Health Department, Building Department, and Fire Marshall Safety standards.
- Perform custodial tasks, monitor inventory, and attend mandatory Chapel Haven training and all agency meetings.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years' work experience, including mechanical, plumbing, electrical.
- Ability to multi-task and complete assigned duties within a specified period.
- Valid CT Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
- Use of own vehicle is a must.
