Public Health Specialist

This role plays a vital part in supporting the local health department's efforts to mitigate the spread of HIV. The HIV PrEP Navigator will provide navigation services to individuals seeking PrEP, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and promoting overall sexual health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:- Guide individuals through the process of accessing PrEP services, including eligibility assessments and insurance verification.
- Provide information on PrEP, its benefits, and potential side effects.
- Assist clients in overcoming barriers to PrEP initiation and adherence.
- Conduct community outreach to raise awareness about PrEP and its availability.
- Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community groups to educate the public on sexual health and PrEP options.
- Foster strong relationships with healthcare providers to facilitate seamless referrals for PrEP services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of clients served.
- Compile and submit reports on PrEP utilization, barriers, and successes to relevant stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (public health, social work, etc.).
- Experience in public health, sexual health education, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of PrEP and current practices in sexual health.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse community stakeholders.
- Sensitivity to issues related to sexual health and confidentiality.
