Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Benefits Account Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Social Security benefits related to child welfare programs. You will leverage your expertise to support case workers and ensure accurate and efficient handling of various benefit-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Benefit Management: Manage Social Security benefits for foster youth, including basic accounting, reconciliations, and tracking of benefit information.
  • Case Worker Support: Provide expert advice and guidance to case workers on benefit-related matters.
  • Fund Requests: Review and approve requests for funds on behalf of foster youth, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • ABLE Accounts: Facilitate the opening and management of ABLE accounts to support the financial needs of foster youth.
  • Communication: Send notifications and statements to various stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all communications.
  • Detailed Tracking: Maintain comprehensive and precise records of all benefit activities and transactions.
Requirements:
  • Strong skills with Word, Excel, and other Outlook Microsoft products.
  • Professional writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment that is focused on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of all materials in the work setting.
Education and Experience:
  • An associate degree or 2 years relevant experience.
  • Human Service or public sector background preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:

Public Consulting Group offers a competitive compensation package, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave, and more. Compensation for this role ranges from $18.27 to $23.60 hourly.
