Job Summary

The University of Arizona is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Assistant to the Head Coach, Men's Basketball and Recruiting Coordinator to join our Athletics Department. This is a full-time, exempt position that requires a strong background in basketball administration and recruiting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with Development on the production of all special events, including game-day activities and promotional campaigns.
  • Serve as the primary contact with various internal constituents, such as event management, public relations, marketing, sports information, and the business office, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of men's basketball programs.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining public relations programs to promote the men's basketball team and enhance the university's reputation.
  • Act as a liaison on all men's basketball external programs, including community outreach and partnerships.
  • Act as a liaison with CATS Academic and the Compliance Office to ensure compliance with NCAA and Big-12 rules and regulations.
  • Serve as the Point of Contact with Athletics Compliance regarding NCAA, Big-12, and institutional rules associated with the recruiting process.
  • Oversee the Director, On-Campus Recruiting and Basketball Analytics and the Director, Student-Athlete Development.
  • Coordinate team travel arrangements and act as a liaison between the basketball program and other areas within the department.
  • Coordinate the usage and preparation of basketball facilities and equipment for use in practice and games.
  • Supervise student managers and ensure they are equipped to support the men's basketball program.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Two (2) years of experience with a Division I basketball program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree.
  • Three (3) years of experience with a Division I basketball program.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, exempt position that requires a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and travel for competition and recruiting. The University of Arizona offers a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive salary range of $200,000 - $250,000.
