Position Overview

The Campus President acts as the primary representative of the College within the campus and the broader community, holding the responsibility for spearheading initiatives that foster the vibrancy, growth, and economic stability of the region. Key responsibilities encompass:

(1) Sector Development,

(2) Community Engagement, and

(3) Campus Leadership.

The College adopts an innovative strategy for employer engagement, with Campus Presidents serving as sector leads to address regional needs. As the institution continues to expand and enhance its value to students, the community, and stakeholders, the Campus President will utilize expertise in sector development to facilitate student success across various targeted industry sectors:

1. Healthcare

2. Business, Professional & Financial Services

3. Aerospace

4. Manufacturing

5. Information Technology

6. Arts & Entertainment

7. Transportation & Logistics

8. Construction

The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader dedicated to overcoming economic barriers for stakeholders, with a focus on student-centered initiatives.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Comprehensive understanding of the student demographic to be served, informed by extensive stakeholder input.
  • Proven leadership in aligning and executing strategic priorities of the College.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Strong analytical acumen with the ability to interpret data for informed decision-making.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate a matrix structure and influence without direct authority to resolve common challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sector engagement initiatives for the region.
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies that promote the College's growth in specific areas, including sector development.
  • Identify community prospects and key decision-makers regarding educational and training programs.
  • Explore opportunities for the College to offer educational and training programs, connecting students to career pathways.
  • Establish strong partnerships with community and business leaders to address challenges and foster support for the College and its students.
  • Stay informed on trends to create innovative solutions that yield positive outcomes for the College and its stakeholders.
  • Craft and deliver compelling messaging that resonates with target audiences (students, employees, customers).
  • Manage a proactive schedule of field visits to enhance relationships and position the College as a preferred education provider.
  • Oversee and track the status of active contracts/agreements to ensure customer satisfaction and facilitate proactive renewals.
  • Collaborate with the College's Legal and Finance teams to review and recommend contract language for new partnerships.
  • Exemplify a collaborative leadership style focused on the needs of students, employers, and the community, aligned with the College's vision.
  • Drive community engagement efforts to fulfill the College's mission.
  • Act as the public representative of the College within the community.
  • Participate in outreach activities that enhance partnerships and resources for current and future students.
  • Engage with community organizations, chambers of commerce, school districts, and civic groups.
  • Advocate for the campus and maintain a visible leadership presence at campus events.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance the College's strategic initiatives.
  • Annually develop and manage a prospect outreach plan in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide local campus leadership to ensure alignment of key initiatives and employee engagement programs.
  • Act as a change agent at the campus level in alignment with system goals.
  • Foster a values-based campus culture that supports the College's mission and strategic priorities.
  • Demonstrate effective communication that promotes transparency and professionalism.
  • Complete required professional development training hours annually.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with physical challenges to perform essential duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree (required) or doctorate (preferred), verified by official transcripts.
  • 15+ years of management experience, including three years of upper-level executive experience in market development or equivalent experience in higher education or relevant industries.
  • Subject matter expertise in one of the defined industry sectors.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred.
