Nouria Energy Corporation is a multi-generational family-owned wholesale fuel distributor, convenience store operator, and car wash operator in New England.
We are seeking a creative and qualified leader to join our team as Category Manager.
As Category Manager, you will work with a team of category professionals to lead growth and innovation within your given categories.
You will help shape category strategy, be accountable to category plans for sales and margin goals, and collaborate with your peers, operations, and marketing to drive results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies that grow revenue and profitability of a given product category.
- Define individual, category-specific financial and operational performance targets and provide guidance to operations to achieve the defined goals.
- Evaluate category financial and operational performance against goals and assert corrective strategic action as required.
- Maintain accountability of category growth and Profit & Loss (P&L). Follow trends and use analysis to identify new opportunities.
- Manage vendor relationships, including collaborating and negotiating with manufacturers and vendors to ensure new product development, product placement, and product strategy that grow sales profitability.
- Initiate and build strategic product programs and marketing plans by collaborating with internal partners.
- Lead the development of promotional activities to grow sales and improve category performance.
- Define pricing strategies and rules for category pricing targets, including zone-specific pricing strategies.
- Coordinate activity for special promotions/events and ensure timely and satisfactory execution of the programs.
- Evaluate Category promotional results to ensure financial targets are met.
- Promote the organization throughout the industry and work to ensure a fair and professional partnership with suppliers.
- Manage organizational compliance with all established supplier agreements.
- Collaborate with Operations and other departments to ensure they can influence the decisions and plans that impact their areas.
Requirements:
- BA/BS in Business or related field required.
- Successful 5-year history in a corporate retail organization.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Strong influencing, change management, and negotiation skills.
- Able to demonstrate a pattern of successful problem-solving.
- Passion for setting and meeting aggressive goals.
- Openness for new initiatives, adaptive, proactive, and resourceful.
- Experience building executive-level presentations.
- Consumer-focused and results-oriented.
