Job Description

The Building Maintenance Mechanic will perform routine maintenance and repairs on various systems and equipment to ensure the building operates efficiently and safely. This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals, as well as generate and process work on a Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety checks and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain engine rooms, mechanical spaces, and utility closets in a neat and clean fashion.
  • Perform emergency repairs and take remedial action to correct any damage to equipment or its occupants.
  • Responsible for the effective completion of all work assignments while meeting the objective of maintaining components/equipment at an elevated level of operating efficiency.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Trade school graduate or completion of an approved trade apprenticeship program in commercial heating/ventilation/air conditioning and building management controls.
  • State of Connecticut D-1 Limited warm air, air conditioning, and refrigeration contractor license.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
