Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team in the Office of the General Counsel at the Archdiocese of Washington. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Office, ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities and tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage administrative functions and daily workflow, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in performing administrative tasks, including developing and maintaining working files, monitoring and tracking staff work, and maintaining client record-keeping systems.
  • Track and file a high volume of correspondence and documents.
  • Collaborate with ADW departments, parishes, schools, and ministries to assist the ADW legal staff in responding to legal matters.
  • Assist with litigation matters, responding to subpoenas and document requests, preparing pleadings, and monitoring deadlines.
  • Support contract reviews, facilities usage inquiries, and Official Catholic Directory inquiries.
  • Assist with corporate governance matters, immigration issues, and compliance with the ADW Records Retention Policy.
  • Provide administrative support for public policy matters and respond to inquiries from the Office of the General Counsel.
Requirements
  • Practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of the Church's teachings.
  • Excellent multitasking and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion with confidential information and documents.
  • Experience working with high levels of correspondence and documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
  • Five or more years of experience in a higher-level office administrative position.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

This role operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to manage and analyze large amounts of data.
