Job Summary

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is seeking a skilled Software Applications Specialist to provide high-quality support, service documentation, and reporting to various stakeholders for multiple software applications, primarily the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, serving as a liaison between EHR and HMIS technical teams, outcomes team, and program management.
Meet with program staff regularly to develop objectives, discuss findings, address data trends, review reports, and identify areas of focus.
Collect, organize, and interpret statistical information with computerized systems and complex calculation applications to make assumptions, develop trends analysis, and draw conclusions, educating leadership on how to use the information.
Collaborate with leadership to design and build reports necessary to answer questions and achieve strategic goals.
Identify needed enhancements to current process flows and help implement change, working independently and using sound judgment, escalating issues when appropriate.
Participate in ongoing decisions concerning data collection methods and data analysis, identifying, developing, and proposing alternative data metrics.
Identify and quickly resolve or escalate issues, provide resolutions, and communicate timely status updates.
Conduct needs assessments with user groups, determine skill level for end users, and proactively develop targeted training based on identifying opportunities for training.
Use system data to communicate progress toward quality metrics and provide regular updates on quality reporting requirements, including monitoring data quality.
Compile data from multiple sources to support monitoring of social, housing, and health outcomes, including conducting regular data validation activities to ensure data quality.
Maintain a tracking system of data required for programs, grants, and other outcomes, as well as grant reporting deadlines, to support staff and ensure that grant-funded requirements are met.
Prepare regular reports to funders regarding progress toward outcomes.
Support data collection, data entry, and quality assurance of the data in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) for internal and external stakeholders who use the HMIS database to collect information.

Requirements

Associate's degree in a related field; experience may be substituted for education.
Demonstrated experience with data management and report creation.
Experience with HMIS preferred.
