Job Overview:

Position Title: Senior Power Electronics Engineer

Role Summary: Flextronics is in search of a highly experienced and driven Senior Power Electronics Engineer to become a vital part of our innovative team. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and enhancement of power electronics systems for Flextronics' cutting-edge energy solutions. This position presents a unique opportunity to engage in sustainable energy advancements while working alongside a top-tier group of engineers and researchers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver multiple power converter designs for production, ranging from several hundred watts to hundreds of kW, while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Tackle large-scale challenges to achieve exceptional reliability and efficiency standards.
  • Design magnetic components including inductors, transformers, and EMI filters.
  • Conduct hardware design tasks such as selecting MOSFETs, developing sensing circuitry, and creating schematics and layouts.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams to conceptualize packaging and thermal management solutions.
  • Work closely with firmware teams to design effective control loops.
  • Apply knowledge in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Worst Case Analysis (WCA).
  • Utilize expertise in FPGA and microcontroller applications, along with peripheral circuitry.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in power conversion following a Ph.D., or 10 years post-MS degree in Power Electronics.
  • Proficient in circuit simulation tools such as SPICE, PSIM, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in system analysis using tools like MATLAB and Mathcad.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging capabilities.
  • Proficient in schematic and layout software, particularly Altium.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and delivering high-performance power electronics systems from concept through to mass production.
  • Solid understanding of semiconductor devices, magnetic components, and control theory.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, including Altium Designer.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a capacity to collaborate effectively across various disciplines.
  • A genuine passion for sustainable energy solutions and a commitment to driving positive change through innovation.
Compensation Range: $180,000 - $200,000
