The Senior System Engineer plays a pivotal role in addressing advanced service challenges, mentoring fellow engineers towards effective solutions, and orchestrating the design and execution of intricate projects. This position is crucial within the service division, tasked with tackling the most complex technical dilemmas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert technical services and support across various domains:
    • Network infrastructure: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security measures.
    • Internal systems, cloud services, and network architecture.
    • Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint.
    • Virtualization platforms: VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft.
    • Support for remote access solutions: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix.
    • Oversee remote monitoring and management of system alerts and notifications.
    • Address escalated support issues related to core Microsoft business solutions, WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, security, and remote access systems.
    • Conduct network evaluations, security assessments, and consultations for new clients.
    • Engage in the administration and upkeep of the remote monitoring and management system: updating agent scripts, responding to alerts, monitoring dashboards, and performing periodic system reviews.
    • Maintain documentation for all computer systems and network infrastructure.
    • Communicate with clients as necessary: keeping them updated on incident progress and notifying them of planned changes or scheduled outages.
    • Be available to assist other engineers and guide them to resolutions.
    • Lead and mentor all technical resources on-site as required.
    • Exhibit a methodical and analytical approach to resolving intricate problems and tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar capacity or 3 years in Managed Services.
  • Proficiency in security practices.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Splunk.
  • Experience in patch management.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability assessments.
  • Understanding of security controls.
  • Competence in access management.
  • Background in risk management and/or risk assessment.
