Job Overview:

Position: Intern - Power Electronics Engineer

Role Summary: As an intern focusing on Power Electronics, you will engage in the design, implementation, and enhancement of systems related to our renewable energy initiatives. This role presents a distinctive chance to tackle complex engineering challenges, contribute to innovative projects, and play a significant role in the renewable energy sector.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and testing of advanced control systems, power conversion, and communication technologies that facilitate solar energy plants in delivering clean energy to the grid at a utility scale.
  • Conduct simulations and performance evaluations to confirm system designs and pinpoint optimization opportunities.
  • Perform literature reviews to investigate cutting-edge topics within the renewable energy domain.
  • Devise creative and innovative solutions for utility-scale solar plants and grid-connected power conversion systems.
  • Create proof-of-concept experiments or simulation setups to validate proposed methodologies through detailed case studies.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in power electronics and control systems.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at an accredited institution in the US. Outstanding master's students in their final year with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong grasp of power electronics fundamentals, including converter designs, modulation strategies, and semiconductor technologies.
  • Proficient in control theory with experience in implementing control algorithms for real-time applications.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation tools and software development for embedded systems.
  • Experience in PCBA design is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Ansys/Maxwell/Icepack is a plus.
