Position Overview:
This role is essential in providing support to laboratory and patient care sectors within the institution.

The Biomedical Equipment Technician II is responsible for delivering technical assistance and on-call support related to the analysis, upkeep, calibration, installation, and enhancement of various medical and scientific electronic devices, including physiological monitoring and surgical apparatus.

The technician will exhibit proficiency in technical support, pre-purchase assessments, incident investigations, and project management concerning specified equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely delivery of products and services in alignment with project deadlines.
  • Utilize software skills to meet equipment support and communication requirements.
  • Provide on-call support after standard working hours on a rotational basis.
  • Assist in pre-purchase evaluations of medical equipment based on expertise.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and clients to ensure completion of equipment support tasks.
  • Conduct in-service training for nursing staff on equipment operational issues to enhance patient care quality.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory standards and institutional policies governing biomedical equipment support.
Client Communication:
  • Engage with clients to facilitate access to equipment, troubleshoot issues, and minimize downtime, ensuring safe and functional equipment for patients and staff.
  • Maintain open and constructive communication with customers throughout the repair process, providing updates on repair status in a responsible manner.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree in Biomedical Technology or Electronic Engineering.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree.
Experience:
Minimum of two years in Biomedical Technology; additional years of experience may substitute for educational requirements. Preferred candidates will have four years of relevant experience, including military or hospital field service.
Onsite Presence:
Required.

This position is integral to ensuring the operational efficiency of medical equipment, thereby enhancing the quality of patient care.
