Become a Certified Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A) in the U.S. Army

As a Medical Equipment Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the functionality of all medical equipment used by our troops. You'll be responsible for servicing and maintaining a wide range of equipment, encompassing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, digital, optical, and radiological principles.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform calibrations and preventive maintenance on medical equipment.
  • Inspect equipment for serviceability and conduct operational checkout procedures.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions, isolate issues, and repair defective components.
  • Install new medical equipment, considering power and space requirements.
  • Meticulously record all services performed.

Training and Development:

This entry-level position offers comprehensive training. You'll undergo 10 weeks of Basic Training followed by 41 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, where you'll gain specialized skills in electrical systems, diagnostic testing, and maintenance & repairs.
