Construction Superintendent

Job Summary:
Doyon Government Group is seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to join our team. As a Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for coordinating all site construction activities and supervising field personnel to ensure successful project completion on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise all construction activities to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Direct field personnel to achieve project goals, maintaining quality workmanship and adhering to original plans and specifications.
- Maintain daily contact with project managers to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain construction schedules, identify and resolve problems, and maintain accurate as-built drawings.
- Articulate timely requests for information and review subcontractors' Schedule of Values for percentage complete and Pay Applications.
- Coordinate and negotiate change order pricing from subcontractors related to contract modifications.
- Update mandatory safety documentation as the project progresses.
- Procure materials for self-performance work, order materials, and schedule inspections as necessary.
- Familiarity with Federal Contracting, specifically the US Army Corps of Engineers and NAVFAC (Department of the Navy).
- Familiarity with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Quality Control Requirements, and reporting procedures.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees, ensuring safety, quality standards, and schedule.
- Supervise projects from NTP through completion of a final punch list and turnover.
- Promote and administer job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards immediately.
- Ensure all company employees and contractors adhere to company safety, quality standards, and schedule.
- Maintain an organized job site, including the construction office.
- Develop employees and be willing to travel to other project locations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree desirable but not required; experience can substitute.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in construction.
- 5 years as a construction superintendent on projects similar in size and complexity.
- Experience with federal government construction projects (USACE and/or NAVFAC).
- Familiarity with EM requirements and experience in hazard identification and safety compliance.
- Capable of interpreting a critical path schedule and construction drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and Primavera scheduling software.
- Able to self-perform some minor scopes of work, carpentry, drywall, cleaning, demo, etc.
- Ability to estimate projects.
- Valid state driver's license.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- CPR & First Aid certification.
Preferred:
- Quality Control and Safety certifications.
Working Environment:
The majority of the work is performed in an indoor/outdoor setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
Physical Demands:
An individual will be required to perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and repeat motions. Light Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects is required.
The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
