Job Summary

Gulf Marine Repair is seeking a highly skilled Outside Machinist Foreman to lead our team in Tampa, FL. As a key member of our ship repair team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the efforts to achieve quality, schedules, and objectives while motivating your team to work safely, correctly, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise the Outside Machinist Department, including manpower requirements, material, job layout, and scheduling of work hours.
  • Develop and implement training programs to improve productivity and correct any issues that may arise.
  • Ensure compliance with strict quality, safety, environmental, and health regulations and policies.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of work hours, materials, and equipment.
Requirements
  • 5 years of directly related ship building/ship repair experience.
  • 3 years of minimum supervisory experience within the ship repair or comparable industry.
  • Knowledge of marine-related equipment, ship repair techniques, sequencing of ship repair activities, and shipyard safety practices.
  • Ability to read simple blueprints and communicate work scope to others.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
