Role Summary

The primary focus of this role is to provide education, support, and interventions that assist clients in their journey towards recovery from mental health and substance use disorders. This will be achieved through both personal experiences and educational insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct case consultations, crisis interventions, and discharge placements while providing individual and group support.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in accordance with contractual obligations and meet minimum requirements for billable client services.
  • Utilize personal recovery experiences to offer peer counseling and support, fostering trust and empowerment among clients and their families.
  • Assist with placement processes, including pre-placement visits and necessary transportation.
  • Participate in shift coverage, including being part of the on-call team.
  • Deliver field-based services tailored to program requirements and client needs.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding client care.
  • Engage in scheduled program meetings and collaborate with team members.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Peer Specialist Certification is mandatory.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Personal experience in mental health or substance use disorder recovery, or familial connections, is essential.
  • A valid driver's license and current auto insurance are required.
  • Understanding of cultural competency is necessary; bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record (EHR) software is advantageous.
