Position Overview

The Healthcare Support Specialist (Float) will be responsible for traveling between Valle del Sol locations as needed to provide Medical Assistant coverage in both primary care and psychiatric specialty settings. The working hours may vary and could include both opening and closing shifts. This role is essential in ensuring efficient client flow through the clinical process. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory and ensuring the clinic is well-stocked. Under the supervision of a physician or advanced practice provider, the Specialist will assist in patient care by preparing clients for their appointments, offering interpretation services when necessary, executing orders and routine procedures in accordance with the Medical Assistant Scope of Practice, and adhering to Federal, State, and agency policies. Additionally, the Specialist will coordinate post-visit care requirements such as documentation, scheduling follow-ups, processing referrals, and communicating results as needed.

Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Willingness to travel to multiple locations
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting Program
  • Completion of internal credentialing and privileging within 90 days of hire
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and in an organized manner
  • Capability to provide culturally sensitive services
  • Familiarity with Windows environment and/or Electronic Health Records systems
  • Current TB test, Hepatitis B vaccination, and immunization records
  • Covid-19 vaccination or qualified exemption (religious or medical)
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training or willingness to complete training within 90 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support training or willingness to complete training within 90 days of hire
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance or signed waiver required
