The Central Energy Plant department presents an exciting opportunity for a full-time Energy Systems Technician to contribute to the UHealth campus.

The Energy Systems Technician is responsible for optimizing and enhancing existing systems to ensure maximum energy efficiency.

Moreover, the Energy Systems Technician handles work requests for preventive and predictive maintenance, inspections, testing, repairs, and installation of various equipment.

Responds to alerts from campus automation systems to prevent potential losses of research specimens and valuable pharmaceutical products.

Annually calibrates over 350 devices and secures Certification for all sensors to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.

Inspects building control and monitoring systems while performing general maintenance tasks.
Installs low voltage wiring and executes wire terminations on controller replacements and retrofits.
Utilizes energy assessment tools (light meters, power factor meters, wattmeters, and anemometers).
Conducts audits on HVAC, lighting, domestic hot water, natural gas, and electrical consumption.
Inspects and manages heating and cooling systems, pumps, and related equipment.
Inspects and replaces (if necessary) belts, filters, and pulleys, documenting equipment conditions and reporting any anomalies to the supervisor.
Tests and assesses equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges.
Keeps daily logs updated on major components.
Prepares and maintains precise records and files on equipment and preventive maintenance.
Receives requests for corrective repair work related to building control and monitoring systems, investigating and resolving any necessary issues.
Performs preventive maintenance on campus control systems and compliance monitoring systems, including replacing UPS batteries, calibrating device sensors, updating device firmware, and replacing faulty sensors and actuators.

Provides remote or on-site support for fire alarm tests and smoke evacuation drills in collaboration with security and other Physical Plant staff.

Generates graphic floor plans, system schematics, live trend data, historical information, comprehensive reports, and summaries as required.
Maintains work areas and equipment rooms in a clean and safe condition at all times.
Reports equipment, space, and building deficiencies to the supervisor and Department leadership promptly.
Operates a variety of hand and power tools and equipment such as handsaws, electric drills, etc.
Ensures all tools and equipment are kept in good operational condition.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent
Certification in relevant specialty or field
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
