Position Overview:

The Instrumentation Control Technician is responsible for a wide array of tasks related to the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of both new and existing automated systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct installation, calibration, and preventive maintenance on complex electrical and electronic instruments, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), motor controls, and variable frequency drives.
  • Diagnose and calibrate closed-loop automated systems and electrical controls.
  • Assemble, troubleshoot, and service various modules and assemblies, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Document and update technical reports, drawings, and operation manuals.
  • Utilize testing instruments to assess circuit continuity and ensure component safety.
  • Evaluate equipment functionality to identify hazards and recommend necessary adjustments or replacements.
  • Plan and execute the layout, installation, and repair of electrical fixtures and control equipment.
  • Maintain adherence to specifications and local electrical codes.

Technical Expertise:

The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge in electrical, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and instrumentation. Proficiency in mathematical calculations and the ability to interpret technical diagrams and documents is essential.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with various departments and contractors to ensure high-quality installations. Engage with manufacturers and vendors to resolve technical issues and provide recommendations for new procedures and equipment.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have an Associate's Degree in a relevant field, such as Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering, along with a minimum of three years of experience in instrumentation control. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Licenses and Certifications:

Progress towards the International Society of Automation's Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Level I Certification is preferred. A valid State of Florida Driver's License is required.

Physical Requirements:

This role may involve working in challenging environments and requires the ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Regular adjustments and operations of equipment are part of the job responsibilities.
