Patient Service Representative

As a Patient Service Representative at Advocate Aurora Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience. Your primary responsibility will be to greet and check in patients arriving for their appointments, ensuring their information is complete and accurate. You will also be responsible for collecting patient responsibility as identified in the pre-registration process, verifying and/or updating patient demographic and insurance information, and communicating with patients regarding payment expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Greets and checks in patients, ensuring accurate and complete information.
- Collects patient responsibility and verifies insurance benefits.
- Communicates payment expectations to patients.
- Identifies patients in need of financial assistance and refers them to the Financial Advocate.
- Monitors patient flow to ensure efficient and courteous care.
- Schedules patient visits using established guidelines.
- Assists with new caregiver onboarding and maintains knowledge of insurance requirements.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Typically requires 1 year of customer service or clerical experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and eligibility tools, EPIC electronic medical record, and Microsoft Office.
