Position Title: Wellness Associate

Employment Status: Non-exempt

Reports To: General Manager

Position Objective
This role is designed to deliver exceptional service through member interactions, while also performing administrative and operational tasks. The position focuses on providing education and services related to Exercise Science, wellness, and fitness programming.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in, promote, and support fitness and wellness initiatives within the center. Provide prospective members with information regarding health club offerings, orientation procedures, and general wellness insights. Assist with sales activities as needed.
  • Act as a representative for the assigned club on the Corporate Health Unlimited Wellness Committee, attending meetings regularly, sharing club-specific updates, and participating in special projects as necessary.
  • Foster a welcoming environment for all members and guests. Ensure prompt acknowledgment of members and guests; facilitate their check-in at the front desk according to club procedures. Direct them to the appropriate personnel when required. Build rapport by communicating with members on a first-name basis.
  • Implement member engagement programs, including appreciation letters, honor roll announcements, birthday notifications, and member events.
  • Handle incoming messages and inquiries, directing them to the appropriate staff members.
  • Organize and maintain paperwork, entering data into the system to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Distribute locker keys, towels, workout attire, and other amenities to members. Manage sales of health bar and pro shop items, keeping accurate sales records when applicable.
  • Schedule appointments for personal coaching, massage, spa services, and personal training sessions.
  • Conduct fitness screenings for members when appropriately trained, and assist members with their workouts as requested.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order of all club equipment and facilities.
  • Restock amenities in locker rooms and common areas as needed.
  • Manage the laundering of towels and workout attire, ensuring proper folding and restocking in lockers and towel holding areas.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of club staff to ensure a high standard of customer service for members.
  • Perform various other duties and assignments as necessary or required.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
  • Outgoing personality with a strong commitment to member service
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Genuine interest in fitness and health, with a desire to maintain or enhance personal fitness levels

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and/or Group Fitness certification from a recognized program
