Position: Wellness Associate

Status: Non-exempt

Reports to: General Manager


Position Objective
This role embodies exceptional service through member engagement, executes administrative and operational tasks, and delivers education and services related to Exercise Science, wellness, and fitness programming.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Engages in, promotes, and supports fitness and wellness initiatives within the center. Provides prospective members with information regarding health club offerings, orientation procedures for new members, and general health and wellness guidance. Assists with sales efforts as needed.
  • Acts as a representative of the assigned club on the Corporate Health Unlimited Wellness Committee, attending meetings regularly, sharing club-specific insights, and participating in special projects as required.
  • Maintains a welcoming and friendly environment for all members and guests. Acknowledges members and guests promptly; ensures they sign in/check in at the front desk, following club procedures. Directs them to the appropriate personnel when necessary. Communicates with members on a first-name basis.
  • Implements member engagement programs (such as letters of appreciation, honor roll, birthday notices, member events, etc.).
  • Handles incoming messages and inquiries, directing them to the appropriate individuals.
  • Organizes and maintains paperwork and enters data into the system to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Distributes locker keys, towels, washcloths, workout attire, etc., to members. Also sells health bar and pro shop items to members, keeping accurate records of such transactions when applicable.
  • Schedules appointments for personal coaching sessions, massage and/or spa services, personal training sessions, etc.
  • When appropriately trained, conducts fitness assessments for members. Assists members with their workouts as requested.
  • Assists in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of all club equipment and facilities.
  • Restocks amenities in locker rooms and common areas.
  • Launders towels, including folding and restocking lockers/towel holding areas.
  • Responsible for laundering towels and workout attire, folding and replacing items in lockers and towel holding areas.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of club staff to ensure a high standard of customer service for members.
  • Performs various other duties and assignments as necessary or required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
  • Outgoing personality with a strong emphasis on high-level member service
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Genuine interest in working in a fitness center environment, a sincere passion for fitness and health, and a commitment to maintaining or improving personal fitness levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and/or Group Fitness certification from a recognized program approved by Corporate Health Unlimited
