Job Summary

At Ventura Pharm Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy by performing a variety of functions in accordance with guidelines, laws, and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Pharmacist in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including receiving and verifying the accuracy and authenticity of prescriptions.
  • Review and record patient information, verify insurance coverage, and discuss coverage with customers.
  • Submit insurance claims for reimbursement and disburse completed and confirmed prescriptions to customers in accordance with the pharmacist's instructions.
  • Answer incoming calls and field questions, maintaining a clean and safe pharmacy environment by complying with regulations, rules, and procedures.
  • Follow infection control protocols in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Participate in the achievement of customer satisfaction goals by working efficiently and providing a high level of service.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with the local medical community, entering sales on assigned cash registers, collecting payments, and handling cash as required.
  • Ensure proper operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and maintaining equipment inventories.
  • Stock and assist the Pharmacist with maintaining supplies inventory, conserving resources by using equipment and supplies appropriately and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform detailed work according to established policies and protocols.
  • Working knowledge of Retail Operations.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematics, including counting and measuring.
Preferred Requirements
  • Previous experience in a Pharmacy setting as a Pharmaceutical Technician.
  • Completion of an accredited Pharmaceutical Technician Certification program.
