Job Title: Business Development Director, Retail

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Director to join our Retail Unit sales team in North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing regional sales and business development strategies for target companies within the Retail Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth in the Retail Unit.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior management at targeted firms to identify new business opportunities.
  • Manage the sales cycle from initial prospect communication to contract execution, ensuring a smooth and successful sales process.
  • Collaborate with our client's presales team and delivery teams to ensure that proposed offerings and services meet customers' business and technology needs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to ensure total client satisfaction throughout the relationship.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategies and stay ahead of the competition.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in selling IT services within the Retail Industry, preferably with a leading IT services firm.
  • Strong local contact base and access to alumni, local associations, and industry associations within the region.
  • Good understanding of the Retail industry and its key players.
  • Experience with vendor selection processes, including RFI and RFP issuance and response management.
  • Ability to maintain strong sales management focus during sales cycles that are typically six months to one year in duration.
  • Thorough command of English, both written and spoken.

Travel Requirements:

The successful candidate will be expected to travel regularly to regional prospect and customer locations to support lead generation, sales presentations, contract negotiations, engagement implementation, and ongoing relationship building.

Education Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree is required.
