Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Manager to join our team at Rockwell Sterling. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for the direction and coordination of field labor, subcontractors, and the placement/use of equipment and construction materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe, effective, and efficient operation of the project.
  • Facilitate new employee orientation and training.
  • Basic knowledge of project start-up guides and quality assurance programs.
  • Capability to read and build a 1-2 month lookahead work schedule.
  • Scheduling of labor, materials, equipment, and knowledge of EWM procedures.
  • Experience with the purchase of project construction materials.
  • Read and understand contracts with owners and subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with owners, designers, fire, and building code officials.
  • Lead subcontractor and workforce meetings.
  • Set sequence and directions for field and subcontractor workforces.
  • Interface with subcontractors.
  • Ability to assist the Project Manager on estimating change orders.
  • Ability to manage major work activities for subcontractors and self-performed work with follow-through to ensure completed tasks meet project requirements.
  • Ability to prepare and sequence site logistics within budget and schedule restraints.
  • Foresee and mitigate schedule conflicts with subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Proficient with project quantities and cost control projections and ability to read and update labor productivity reports.
  • Recognize and mediate on-site labor issues.
  • Payroll time sheet experience.
  • Complete jobsite Daily Reports.
  • Proficient in scheduling work through modeling.
  • Participate in Mentor Training Program.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 10 years of experience in the construction field as a Supervisor.
  • Prior experience managing the construction of a water/wastewater treatment facility.
  • Exposure to supervising union and non-union workforces is preferred.
  • Corresponds through and is proficient with MS Outlook and other Microsoft suite applications.

Travel Requirements:

Candidates may permanently reside anywhere in the US but must be willing to travel to project locations anywhere across North America for extended periods of time (up to 85%).
