About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director, Development and Advancement to join our team at InsideHigherEd. This is a key leadership position that will play a critical role in advancing the university's fundraising efforts and building strong relationships with donors, alumni, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, alumni, and university leaders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the university to advance fundraising efforts and achieve strategic goals.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and other financial reports to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and maximize fundraising opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in securing major gifts and building strong relationships with donors and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve strategic goals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field.
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) or similar certification.
  • Previous experience in a college or university setting.
