Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Member Service Representative to join our team at NIH Federal Credit Union. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate member service, adhering to operational procedures and standards.
  • Process transactions, including new member accounts, IRA accounts, certificates, and various credit union products and services.
  • Assist with balancing and auditing branch functions, including ATM, CDM/TCD, and negotiable items.
  • Perform teller responsibilities as assigned, including handling cash, processing deposits, and providing change.
  • Research and resolve member issues, determining viable options to solve problems and choose the best course of action.
  • Meet established sales, service, and referral goals, promoting credit union products and services to members.
  • Collaborate with the branch manager to lead the team in achieving sales, service, and referral goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Minimum 12 months of financial institution experience and/or 2 years of outside sales and business development experience.
  • Previous teller or cash handling experience preferred; minimum 6 months of lending function experience involving loan processing and origination.
  • Ability to function in a financial institution environment, utilizing standard office equipment, including PC, fax, copier, telephone, etc.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word/Windows; attention to detail and accuracy required.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced branch environment, interacting with members and peers. Reliable transportation to cover branches is solely the responsibility of the employee. Floating may be required to other branches and/or work extended hours, including Saturdays, as determined by management.

The ability to be bonded is also required.
