Job Summary:

The Plumber - Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of plumbing systems within the Hospital. This skilled craft position requires journeyman level or higher proficiency and involves mental and visual alertness. The position requires adherence to precise procedures and standards involving a high degree of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains a preventive maintenance program for all piping systems, water controlled fixtures, medical gas systems, and storm drains.
  • Ensures the proper installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing fixtures, piping, and medical gas systems.
  • Oversees outside plumbing contractors, purchases plumbing supplies, and manages inventory.
  • Repairs or installs fixtures, faucets, piping, supply and waste, sprinklers, and medical gas systems.
  • Performs metal work repair, including welding, brazing, and silver soldering as needed.
  • Operates oxy-acetylene cutting torches and equipment.
  • Maintains and repairs heat and cooling systems, air handlers, fans, and ducts.
  • Installs and maintains filtration systems for ice machines and MRI equipment.
  • Responds to daily trouble and emergency calls dispatched through the Maintenance office.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of four (4) years related experience in the plumbing trade.
  • Completion of plumbing apprenticeship school required.
  • State Journeyman's Plumbing license is required.
