Position Overview:
The Compliance team is in search of a skilled Auditor fluent in Russian to enhance the effectiveness of our mission. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team dedicated to supporting courageous partners engaged in the global struggle for democracy and freedom. The position is based in Washington, D.C.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough financial assessments of NED grantees across Eurasia and Europe, ensuring compliance with grant regulations.
  • Develop tailored monitoring plans based on risk assessments for each grantee, collaborating with Program and Grants Officers.
  • Execute monitoring activities, including internal control assessments and financial reviews, in both English and Russian.
  • Translate and work with documentation in both languages, including audit reports and financial statements.
  • Prepare detailed monitoring reports outlining observations, findings, and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Create training materials and conduct financial management workshops for grantees.
  • Maintain accurate records in the Grants Management System.
  • Participate in internal working groups to enhance monitoring processes and adapt to evolving risks.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned, with increasing independence as experience grows.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with OMB's Uniform Guidance and Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Russian (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Experience with internal audit software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
